Senior Education Department Official to Speak at Massachusetts Conference on Campus Safety and Violence Prevention

Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Catherine E. Lhamon will present the morning keynote address on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at the “Securing Our Future: Statewide Campus Safety and Violence Prevention Conference” in Worcester, Massachusetts. This conference focuses on developing systemic approaches to violence prevention through governance, planning, protocols and communication and by providing vital training and resources to college and university presidents, campus police officers and Title IX coordinators on properly identifying, preventing and responding to campus violence.

The conference is presented by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, and the Attorney General’s Office with attendance by representatives of public and private colleges and universities across the state.
