Senior Education Department Official to Give Remarks at the Neuroscience, Society Lecture Series in Washington, D.C.

Libby Doggett, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Early Learning at the U.S. Department of Education, will deliver remarks at the Neuroscience and Society Lecture Series: “Closing the Language Skills Gap Among Children” at 7 p.m. ET in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Doggett will discuss the policy issues raised by the language skills gap and what government is doing to try to close it. She will also participate in a question and answer session.

The event, sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, will focus on the gap in language acquisition and processing among children in different socioeconomic classes and how that gap can be closed in the U.S.
