Frank Chong, deputy assistant secretary for community colleges, will give the opening remarks at the Center for American Progress’ seminar: Articulation and Transfer: College Strategies for the Success of 21st Century Students,” at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, in Washington, D.C.
The seminar will look at the issues and challenges facing institutions of higher education as they work to develop articulation agreements that facilitate the transfer of credits, an increasingly important issue as more and more students are beginning their education at community colleges and transferring to four year universities. Chong will discuss the importance of developing transfer policies that help students reach their educational goals, reduce time to degree completion, and help the country meet President Obama’s goal to be first in the world in college completion by 2020.
