David Johns, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans (WHIEEAA) will facilitate a youth town hall at the Jack and Jill of America Teen Forum in Palm Desert, California, at 2:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, July 30.
The youth town hall will focus on the actions that caring and concerned adults can take to better understand their needs and ensure they feel safe, engaged and supported in school and in life. It will also build upon the Administration’s efforts to highlight the importance of student voices and celebrating young people as experts uniquely equipped to co-construct excellent learning and cultivate more opportunities for young people to succeed.
Jack and Jill of America is a membership organization of mothers with children, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty.
