Alejandra Ceja, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics (Initiative), will participate in a roundtable with migrant families in Fresno, California on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. PDT. During the roundtable, Ceja will discuss the Administration’s investments in education—from cradle-to-career—and highlight the importance of early learning, student support services and access to federal financial aid. She also will highlight the importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as a means of accessing a college education.
She will be joined by Cleofas Rodriguez Jr. executive director, National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association.
The Initiative launched its Migrant Voices series in partnership with the Department’s Office of Migrant Education, National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association, PBS, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The series aims to elevate the voices of migrant students and families while fostering the development of local school and business partnerships.
