Marco Davis, deputy director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, will participate in a congressional briefing as part of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s Latinos on the Fast Track and the Entertainment Software Association’s Third Annual Video Game Innovation Challenge and Fellowship in Washington, D.C., at 11:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Davis will speak on a panel entitled “Closing the Gap: Diversity in Video Game and Tech Industries.” He will engage in discussion about the current status of and opportunities for Latino students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and careers.

The fellowship provides an opportunity for 20 underrepresented minority students, ages 15-25, to create original video games and platforms for local and global social justice issues including bullying, poverty, health, and civil rights, among other causes.
