John King, senior advisor delegated duties of deputy secretary of education, will join Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh tomorrow in Boston to host a roundtable discussion on the successes and barriers of Operation Exit and closing opportunity gaps through President Obama’s My Brother's Keeper Initiative (MBK). The White House launched MBK to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by all young people, including boys and young men of color, and to ensure that all young people can reach their potential.
King’s remarks will address how MBK is a call to action to improve the lives of all young people.
Mayor Walsh will talk about Operation Exit, which offers students a chance to get on the path to career stability through a partnership between the Mayor’s Office, Youth Operations Unlimited, the building trades, and the Boston Police Department.
