Senior Department Official to Deliver Commencement Address at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

Eduardo Ochoa, assistant secretary for postsecondary education, will deliver the commencement address at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 7, at ceremonies taking place at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Ochoa will discuss how Bloomsburg University has prepared students to be active and engaged participants in the global economy of the 21st century. He will also highlight the Education Department’s efforts to reach President Obama’s goal for America to be first in the world in college completion by the year 2020.

Bloomsburg University, one of 14 public universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, enrolls more than 9,000 students across its four colleges – the College of Science and Technology, the College of Business, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Education. Some 40 percent of its students are the first in their families to attend college.
