Maureen McLaughlin, senior advisor to the Secretary and director of international affairs, will discuss the “U.S. Department of Education’s International Strategy: Succeeding Globally through Education and Engagement” on April 17 at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She will explain how the Department's international work is fully integrated with its domestic agenda and designed to simultaneously strengthen U.S. education and advance international priorities by increasing global competencies, learning from other countries and engaging in education diplomacy.
Maclaughlin will be the guest speaker as part of the university’s Distinguished International Lecture Series.
