U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. will deliver remarks at the Multi-literacy and Dual Language Learning Symposium at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 23, in Washington, D.C.
King will speak to more than 200 leaders from state education agencies, school districts, research, business and non-profit organizations, about the value and benefits of multi-literacy.
The symposium, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition, will explore the question, “Why Multi-literacy” with national experts in research, practice, policy and business communities. State and district leaders will be featured, in addition to a panel of teachers, parents and students who will share their perspectives on dual language learning approaches.
