Secretary John B. King Jr. To Recognize U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, District and Postsecondary Sustainability Awardees

U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr.; Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce Bruce Andrews; Federal Chief Sustainability Officer Christine Harada; and Deputy Director of the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council Anisa Baldwin-Metzger will honor the U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, District Sustainability Awardees, and Postsecondary Sustainability Awardees at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 20th, at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

At the awards ceremony, Secretary King will also announce the 2016 Green Strides Tour, with the theme "Real World Learning." The awardees are recognized for reducing their environmental impact, creating healthy learning environments and providing real-world sustainability education that prepares students to succeed in the 21st century.
