U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will address Common Sense Media's School Privacy Zone Summit Monday in Washington. The summit will bring together more than 100 key stakeholders for a national conversation about respecting and safeguarding student privacy while leveraging technology to improve learning opportunities.

In order to achieve the President's goal of leading the world in college graduates by 2020, the Obama Administration is committed to transforming learning through technology. The Administration recognizes that there should be safeguards put in place to make sure we take proactive steps to ensure privacy and safety online for all. Across the country, when used effectively, we have seen examples of the power and potential of technology to increase access, engage students, empower teachers, and connect both to each other and some of the best resources the world has to offer.
