Dr. Alexa Posny, assistant secretary for special education and rehabilitative services, will address the 2010 National State of the Art Conference on Postsecondary Education for Students with Intellectual Disabilities on Friday at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
Posny, who leads the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, will discuss her office’s goals for career and postsecondary education for students with disabilities. She is scheduled to deliver the luncheon address beginning at 12:15 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at George Mason University's hotel and conference center, 4352 Mason Pond Dr., in Fairfax.
The conference is sponsored by George Mason and the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS). Co-sponsors include the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration. Among the 250 expected are colleges and university representatives, researchers, program staff, parents and self-advocates.
