Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans to Discuss Federal Efforts to Improve Educational Outcomes for Students at African-American Student Summit at UNLV

David Johns, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, will participate in an African-American student summit titled "Giving a Voice to Student Perspective and Vision" today, Feb. 6, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Johns will discuss his work across federal agencies and communities to help improve educational outcomes for African-American students. In addition, he will discuss strategies, such as parental and community engagement, to help students become successful, not only in school but in career and life.
