Alejandra Ceja, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics (Initiative) will highlight the importance of increasing access to and awareness of key health resources for students attending institutions of higher education, as well as encouraging collaboration between P-12 schools, Hispanic-Serving Institutions and health entities to help increase the educational attainment and life outcomes of Hispanic students across the country at the Enroll America National Conference in Washington, D.C. Ceja will provide opening remarks before the panel entitled, “The Affordable Care Act & Education: The Role Higher Education Institutions Play in Effective Outreach.”

Enroll America is a nonprofit organization that works with partners nationwide to maximize the number of Americans who enroll in and retain health coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

The Initiative was established in 1990 to address the educational disparities faced by the Hispanic community. In September 2015, the Initiative will celebrate its 25th anniversary, a historic milestone that will be commemorated with the leveraging of public- and private-sector commitments to action that invest in quality education programs and strategies for Hispanics.
