U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will join Steve Barnett, director of the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER), on a national press call at 3 p.m. EDT on Monday, April 25, to discuss NIEER's study: "The State of Preschool 2010." The call and a copy of the report will be embargoed until Tuesday, April 26, when it will be released.
The NIEER study shows that the recession continues to impact state preschool programs, with a decrease in total spending by states as well as spending per child. The State of Preschool 2010 report ranks all 50 states on preschool quality standards, funding and enrollment.

Registration for the conference call constitutes agreement to honor the embargo of the report until April 26, without exception. An embargoed copy of the report will be made available upon registering for the call.
