U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give remarks at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Capitol Forum. Duncan will highlight the need to reform No Child Left Behind and maintain the maximum Pell grant to help all students gain access to higher education. He will also discuss the need for more effective minority teachers as well as efforts the Department has made to expand and reform teacher education programs at Minority-Serving Institutions.
HACU is comprised of more than 400 colleges and universities committed to strengthening higher education success for Hispanics. HACU convenes an annual National Capitol Forum to promote their policies and initiatives aimed at improving educational opportunities and success for Hispanics.
