Michael Robbins, senior advisor for Nonprofit Partnerships, will address the National After School Association’s 23rd annual national convention at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, in Orlando, Fla. Robbins will discuss the Obama administration’s support for extending academic programs outside the school day and how winning the future in education requires community partnerships that expand learning opportunities for students. He will also lead a workshop at the convention on Federal initiatives to strengthen high-quality partnerships between schools and community-based organizations.
Attendees will include practitioners and leaders from before school, afterschool and summer school programs; youth-serving organizations; 21st Century Community Learning Centers; parks and recreation departments; administrators from all public, private, faith, school and community-based organizations; and local, state and national policymakers and reform leaders.
