Education Department Assistant Secretary to Speak as Panelist at Two-Year Colleges Association Event

Eduardo Ochoa, assistant secretary for the Office of Postsecondary Education, will address the Two-Year Colleges Association (TYCA) Northeast Conference in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Nov. 5, at 8:15 a.m. Ochoa will speak as a panelist at the event, which will be in the ballroom of the Dupont Hotel.

Several education officials, including James Lyon Sr., secretary of the Maryland Higher Education Commission, and officials from Montgomery College, Anne Arundel Community College and Howard Community College, will join Ochoa in discussing their perspectives on the state of community colleges in the Northeast and throughout the nation, as well as the changes they expect to see moving forward.

TYCA is an organization that works to foster the intellectual and pedagogical growth of educators, especially English teachers, as well as administrators in two-year colleges.
