Education Secretary Arne Duncan will join Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack at the National 4-H Youth Conference in Chevy Chase, Md., to talk to student leaders from schools across the nation about the need to pursue college and career training. Duncan will deliver his remarks to approximately 300 students from rural, urban and suburban communities throughout the nation at 8:30 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, April 5.
Improving college access and completion rates are critical to reaching President Obama's goal for America to lead the world with the highest proportion of college graduates by 2020. Duncan also will discuss the role that rural students play in helping the country boost its number of college graduates.
