Deputy Director of White House Hispanic Initiative to Address Latino Education at American Federation of Teachers Conference

Jose Rico, deputy director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, will highlight the issues behind Latino degree completion and discuss the Obama Administration’s strategies to increase Latino students’ access to a quality education during a mini-plenary session at the American Federation of Teachers’ (AFT) Together Educating America’s Children (TEACH) conference. Rico will deliver a presentation on the condition of education for Latino students and the best practices for English Language Learners at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11. The conference will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
