Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Early Learning Libby Doggett will deliver remarks at 9:25 a.m. CT on Nov. 15, at Impact Austin’s annual Discovery Day. Doggett will discuss the importance of access to high-quality early learning opportunities for all children to give them a strong start on their path to success in school and in life.

Impact Austin’s annual Discovery Day gives its members the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the critical issues affecting the community and how our philanthropic dollars can have the greatest impact. Speakers will share their insights about challenges and trends in each of the organization’s focus areas: culture, education, environment, family and health and wellness.

The Obama Administration strongly believes that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and education is crucial to the economic strength and security of our nation and communities. The Department of Education’s work is focused on ensuring all students receive an education that prepares them for success in life and their career, through programs including ConnectED, School Improvement Grants, Race to the Top, as well as ED's work to expand access to preschool and make college more affordable.
