U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education Alexa Posny will give remarks at the Division of Early Childhood (DEC) 26th Annual International Conference Friday, Oct. 15 in Kansas City, Mo. Dr. Posny will discuss the Department’s current initiatives and issues of importance with professionals and family members concerned about early intervention and the qulaity of education for young children with disabilities. She also will discuss the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) programs in relation to the Administration's plans for reauthorizing the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and its early learning agenda.
The DEC is an international organization that works on behalf of young children with disabilities and other special needs. The organization seeks to promote policies and advance evidence-based practices to support the development of young children with specials needs.
