Eduardo Ochoa, assistant secretary for postsecondary education, will deliver keynote remarks at an opening plenary session at the 125th Annual Meeting of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in Boston, Mass., on Friday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. During the plenary session, entitled “125th Anniversary: The Purposes of Education: A Conversation Between Generations,” Ochoa will address federal higher education priorities and engage in a discussion with students at the conference on what the role and purpose of education is today. The dialogue will be the culmination of a two-year “Listening to Students” project initiated by NEASC.
The conference, themed “Demanding Excellence, Honoring Difference,” will take place in the Ballroom Foyer at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel Boston. Expected attendees include about 1,500 chief administrative officers of colleges and public and private elementary, middle and high schools in the six New England states, including college presidents and deans, school superintendents, headmasters and principals.
