U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education Brenda Dann-Messier will deliver the commencement address at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Science’s (CHSAS) graduation ceremonies on Friday, June 10. Dann-Messier will address the outgoing class of 2011, emphasizing the importance of obtaining the skills to succeed both academically and professionally. She will also discuss the economic and scientific significance of the agriculture industry in the United States, lauding the progressive efforts of the CHSAS to assist in its sustained growth and strength.
In addition to providing students with the skills necessary to succeed at the college level, the Chicago High School for Agricultural Science offers students the opportunity to develop marketable skills in urban and rural agriculture.
