Deb Delisle, U.S. assistant secretary for elementary and secondary education, will travel to Alliance, Ohio, on Monday, Sept. 16, to highlight the school’s work around early childhood education in the district. Delisle will tour the center, visit classrooms and meet with school leaders and education stakeholders, including Alliance District Superintendent Jeffrey Talbert; Deborah Cain, member of the Ohio Board of Education, and Christine Gibowicz. She will also give brief remarks about President Obama’s Preschool for All initiative and the impact of early learning on students in urban areas.
Delisle served as Ohio’s superintendent of public instruction from 2008-2011 and was superintendent of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights school system from 2003-2008.
