Assistant Secretary Deb Delisle to Discuss Federal Education Priorities at College of New Rochelle in New York

Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Deb Delisle will give remarks at the Lower Hudson Council of Administrative Women in Education meeting on Thursday, March 20, at the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, N.Y. The event is titled "The Federal Education Perspective: Where We Are and Where We Are Going." During remarks, Delisle will highlight the importance of education reform, extending Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) flexibility to states while waiting for the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind, expanding broadband access in schools through the ConnectEd initiative; providing funding for professional development for teachers and making college more affordable. A question-and-answer session will follow.

The Lower Hudson Council of Administrative Women in Education, founded in 1982, empowers women to lead in educational administrative roles in three states—New York, New Jersey and Connecticut—and 90 districts.
