Assistant Secretary Deb Delisle, who heads the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, will address attendees of the annual Coordinators’ Academy hosted by the Virginia Department of Education Wednesday in Richmond.

Delisle will speak to the opening session of the conference about the impact of federal programs on state reform initiatives.  She will update participants on developments surrounding reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), also known as No Child Left Behind.  For more information on the administration’s proposal to reauthorize the act, click here.

The Coordinators’ Academy is a three-day technical assistance workshop for federal program coordinators and other key instructional staff who administer ESEA projects.  The conference provides information related to ESEA programs, best practices and strategies to address high-need populations.
