Assistant Secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education Brenda Dann-Messier will give keynote remarks at a Job Creation and Economic Development Summit on Tuesday, March 29 at Cape Fear Community College in Castle Hayne, N.C. Dann-Messier will talk about how education and workforce training is critically related to economic development, and describe the Department’s programs and initiatives to support postsecondary education and career development.

Rep. Mike McIntyre (R-NC) is hosting the event to discuss how southeastern North Carolina can best position itself to be on the forefront of pursuing jobs and building a workforce of the future. Other federal and state government officials are also expected to participate in the event to share their input on the future of jobs and the economy.
