U.S. Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education Brenda Dann-Messier will deliver remarks during the commencement ceremony at Colorado Mountain College (CMC) on Friday, May 3 in Leadville, Colo. Her remarks will be titled, "The Value of Higher Education to You and to Our Nation."
Dann-Messier administers the Education Department’s programs on adult, career and technical education, as well as community colleges and correctional education.
CMC is a network of 11 community college campuses in western Colorado that awards associates degrees and also began awarding four-year bachelor’s degrees last fall. CMC’s associate programs are designed to send graduates on to successful enrollment and completion of four-year degrees at the state’s four-year institutions of higher learning.
