Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for career, technical, and adult education, will discuss the administration's priorities around workforce development, education and training during opening remarks at the Mountain Plains Adult Education Association Conference on Monday, April 28, in Santa Fe, N.M. She also will comment on the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) Report in her remarks.
Dann-Messier leads the Department's efforts in adult, career and technical education, as well as efforts supporting community colleges and correctional education. Her office oversees the administration of seven grant programs in these areas, totaling approximately $1.7 billion annually.
