Assistant Secretary Brenda Dann-Messier to Give Keynote Remarks at Rhode Island Senate Economic Summit

Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for vocational and adult education, will give keynote remarks at the annual Rhode Island Senate Economic Summit on Monday, March 10, at the Community College of Rhode Island in Providence.She will discuss the administration's priorities around workforce development, education and training.

During her career, Dann-Messier has served as president of the Dorcas Place Adult and Family Center in Providence; established the Rhode Island Welcome Back Center, a program that assists immigrant professionals resuming work in their careers; and has served as a member of the Rhode Island Board of Governors of Higher Education and chaired the Academic and Student Affairs Subcommittee.

Entitled "Rhode to Work: Meeting the Current and Future Job Training Needs of Rhode Island," the summit will feature discussions and perspectives on workforce development and career and technical education, and will conclude with a panel of education, workforce development and business representatives.
