U.S. Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services Dr. Alexa Posny will present remarks at the 14th National School Social Work Conference at the Embassy Suites Kingston Plantation Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. In her remarks, Posny will discuss the important role school social workers play in addressing the needs of students with disabilities and ensuring that all students benefit from high expectations and networks of support. Posny will also discuss the role of school social workers in school-wide intervention models and outline a series of strategies for providing all students, including students with disabilities, with a world class education.
The conference is sponsored by the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA). Organized in 1994, SSWAA is a national professional organization dedicated to advancing the profession of School Social Work and providing training opportunities to practitioners in the use of evidence-based practices to meet the needs of students, families and schools.
