Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for vocational and adult education, will discuss the role of education in workforce development at the Clinton Global Initiative Conference in Chicago on Thursday, June 30. The session will be held at 2 p.m. in the Erie Room at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.
The workforce development discussion, which Dann-Messier will lead, will explore ways to train the 21st century workforce by addressing industry needs, improving data reporting, and supporting particular groups such as youth, the aging workforce, and individuals with poor English skills. Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, CGI convenes global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges. The Chicago meeting will focus on developing ideas for driving economic growth in the United States and will be the first CGI event solely dedicated to U.S. issues.
