Acting Under Secretary Jamienne Studley will discuss the role a liberal arts education plays in the Administration's key higher education policy initiatives at a Fordham University conference at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 28, in New York City. During her remarks, Studley will talk about President Obama's proposal to develop a college rating system that informs students and encourages institutions to improve and innovate, as well as highlight other issues regarding federal support and investment in higher education.
Entitled "The Value of Liberal Arts Education and America's Future," the conference will bring together students, faculty, administrators and the public to examine the value of a liberal arts education given the current economic climate and concerns about college costs and preparation for job opportunities.
