Acting U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. will discuss the importance of teacher diversity during a panel discussion on Tuesday, March 8, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He will highlight the Department’s efforts to ensure that all students have access to great teaching and to great opportunities in the classroom. In addition, King will address the Department’s efforts—and one of his top priorities—to support teachers and school leaders, and to uplift the teaching profession.
King is a former high school social studies teacher who taught in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and in Boston.
