Acting U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. will testify at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 25, before the House Education and the Workforce Committee on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
King will outline the path forward on implementing the new law, and the importance of ensuring equity of opportunity for every child—and how that goal is central to the new ESSA.
At 2 p.m. ET, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions will hold a confirmation hearing on King's nomination to serve as secretary of education.
