Acting Deputy Secretary of Education Jim Shelton will deliver the keynote address at the EdSurge Tech for Schools Summit on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore. Shelton's remarks will focus on how and why educators and administrators should seize opportunities to support and equip teachers with a set of tools designed specifically to fit their respective needs.
EdSurge is an education startup collaborative for educators, entrepreneurs and investors involved in education technology. The summit will enable teachers and entrepreneurs to collaborate and continue productive discussions about what works and what they need to help apply innovative technology to more effective teaching and learning.
The event expects to attract several hundred district administrators, IT decision makers and educators from the greater Baltimore area, plus 30 leading education technology companies. Co-sponsors for this event are the Baltimore Education Innovation Consortium, the Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore County Public Schools, Howard County Public Schools and the Maryland Society for Educational Technology.
