Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will travel to Gahanna, Ohio, today to talk to high school students and their families about the importance of college and the steps the Administration has taken to keep college affordable in Ohio and across the country. Audio of the Vice President and Secretary Duncan’s remarks will be streamed live on www.WhiteHouse.gov/live at 12:15 p.m. ET. The event will be at Lincoln High School and is open to pre-registered press.

Biden and Duncan will also call on colleges and universities to do their part to contain costs and ensure college remains within reach for the middle class. Since the members of Lincoln High School’s senior class were born, published tuition at the Ohio State University has more than tripled. More than two-thirds of Ohio college students take out loans to pay for school. These students graduate with an average debt of over $27,000.
