John S. Wilson, executive director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), will participate in a panel discussion at the 2012 National Urban League Annual Conference on Friday, July 27, in New Orleans. In the session, “Building Education Partnerships: Support, Achievement and Opportunity,” Wilson will discuss education equity and the components of effective public-private partnerships in higher education.
The mission of the National Urban League movement is to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. The theme of this year’s conference, which is underway through Saturday, July 28, is “Occupy the Vote: Employment and Education Empower the Nation.”
