Education Secretary Duncan to Honor Teachers for Serving the 9-11 Generation at Roundtable Event

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit a school in Arlington, Va., on Sunday to honor teachers as the unsung heroes that arose from the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2011, to incorporate the history and lessons of that day into the curriculum for a generation of students over the last decade. Duncan will meet with Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Patrick Murphy and local teachers for a roundtable to hear how educators have coped with the event and its aftermath at 2 p.m. at Washington Lee High School.
