Several key stakeholders will gather on Wednesday, July 27, to discuss higher education modeling and simulation in order to identify program needs and support the fields’ further development. The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Department of Education headquarters in Washington, D.C. The conversation will open with brief remarks from U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Rep. Bobby Scott on the importance of furthering discussion in this area.
The design of all engineering products involves modeling and simulation, and several core fields depend heavily on advanced simulation and modeling techniques. The meeting will provide opportunities for experts in the field to share information with each other and the public on best practices in the field of modeling and simulation. A number of experts and officials will lead panel discussions focusing on supporting modeling and simulation programs to build a strong, well-educated workforce and military.
