John White, deputy assistant secretary for rural outreach at the U.S. Department of Education, will speak to key 4-H leaders from throughout the nation about opportunities for collaboration on Thursday, Jan. 26, during the National 4-H Council’s Health Rocks! Healthy Living Sustainability Symposium. White will describe the rural education landscape nationally and Education Department programs which could present partnership opportunities for 4-H state leaders and their partners.

Key 4-H leaders in selected states with at least one successful 4-H Healthy Living program have been invited to participate in National 4-H Council’s healthy living symposium. The purpose of the gathering is to expose state partners to a broader picture of programming trends in the area of Healthy Living and determine how their state might further its work with 4-H in this area.
