Karen Cator, director of the Office of Educational Technology, will discuss the National Educational Technology Plan (NETP) at the University of Alabama’s System Scholars Institute 2012 on Wednesday, May 23 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Cator’s keynote address is titled “Transforming American Education: Learning Powered by Technology.” During her remarks, Cator will give an overview of the NETP, which articulates a vision for a 21st century model of learning and offers goals for using technology to transform education in five areas: learning, assessment, teaching, infrastructure and productivity. The aim is to achieve each goal by 2015.
