Joanne Weiss, chief of staff for Secretary Arne Duncan at the U.S. Department of Education, will deliver the keynote address at the Kids in Common Annual Children’s Summit on Friday, Jan. 27. Weiss will speak at 12:30 p.m. in a session titled “Changing the Odds Through Education.”
This is the fifth annual summit, which invites community leaders to create new partnerships and work to ensure that every child is successful in learning and in life. Topics this year include family engagement, the growth mindset and immigrant health issues. The summit will be held at the Wyndam Hotel in San Jose, Calif.
