Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships Brenda Girton-Mitchell to give Keynote Address at George Washington University’s Interfaith Baccalaureate Service

The Rev. Brenda Girton-Mitchell, director of the Education Department’s Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, will deliver the keynote address at GWU’s interfaith service as part of the commencement activities for the school’s graduating class of 2012. She will address students and guests attending the interfaith service at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, in Washington, D.C.

In her remarks, Girton-Mitchell will discuss the importance of interfaith partnerships and call on new graduates to take an active role in tackling challenges facing their communities. The service will also include reflections from six graduating seniors of different faiths as well as meditations from clergy representing a variety of faith traditions.
