Deputy Assistant Secretary to Participate in Federal Panel at Alliance for Full Participation’s 2011 “Summit 2.0 Real Jobs–It's Everyone's Business”

Sue Swenson, deputy assistant secretary for special education and rehabilitative services, will participate in a federal panel during the closing session of the Alliance for Full Participation’s 2011 “Summit 2.0 Real Jobs – It’s Everyone’s Business” on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m. in National Harbor, Md. Swenson will discuss the challenges and barriers facing increasing integrated employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

The panel will include leaders in the IDD community and will take a look at promising practices from providers, employers, and self advocates in transition, implementing employment first, systems change, and innovation. The summit is expected to attract more than 1,500 attendees from all 50 states.
