U.S. Assistant Secretary Alexa Posny and the Education Department's Director of International Affairs Maureen McLaughlin will give keynote remarks at the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of an art exhibit by students from around the world at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Department's Auditorium, 400 Maryland Ave., S.W. The exhibit of 30 works of art is hosted by the Department and presented in conjunction with VSA as part of International Education Week. This year's theme is "Snapshot: A Glimpse Though My Lens." The ceremony will also feature musical and spoken word performances by students.

VSA is the international organization on arts and disability and an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The organization was founded more than 35 years ago by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith to create a society where people with disabilities could learn through, participate in, and enjoy the arts.
