Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education Brenda Dann-Messier will visit Versailles, Ky., Friday to discuss community colleges and adult education during the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regent’s Meeting. At 8:30 a.m. ET, she will give a presentation on the critical importance of community and technical colleges and high-quality career and technical education (CTE) to our nation’s future, and also outline the Department of Education’s vision to transform the CTE system. At 11:30 a.m., Dann-Messier will discuss the importance of adult education for reaching President Obama’s 2020 college completion goal, as well as for meeting the nation’s skilled workforce development needs.
As assistant secretary, Dann-Messier administers the Education Department's programs on adult, career and technical education, as well as community colleges and correctional education.
