U. S. Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Deb Delisle will moderate a panel discussion on flexibility under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the National Association of State Title I Directors annual conference on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10:45 a.m., in Nashville, Tenn. The panel will provide an overview of the approval process for ESEA flexibility requests and participants will discuss some of the approaches that states are using to implement the ESEA flexibility principles.
As of Nov. 31, 2012, the U.S. Department of Education has approved ESEA flexibility requests from 34 states and the District of Columbia.
